A highlight of Bergen! For a truly local experience, go through the main restaurant to the stairs and head down to the bar. There is a smaller menu here in a relaxed environment at a fraction of the price of the main restaurant :) (It all comes out of the same kitchen though! ;)
French/Scandinavian. A great selection of beers. Comparable quality to Pingvinen and you can obtain a decent and "cheap" by Norwegian standards meal for about 150 kroner. Beer and wine is extra.

Close by, and you can get a good lunch deal by using Let's Deal. I cannot personally vouch for it as I never ate there, however I have worked with the former head chef, who makes really amazing food!

A well-known book cafe with a nice view over the Fish Market in Bergen. Lovely atmosphere to escape from tourists and really relax with nice coffee and homemade cakes

Great kebabs....allegedly the best in Bergen! I recommend buying one for a cheap and filling dinner and enjoying it with a beautiful sunset at Nordnes! :)

Drinks & Nightlife
Don't recommend the food or the service. HOWEVER, this is a beautiful spot in Bergen to sip a delicious cold beer in their fantastic beer garden, while ignoring the truly horrific service and appreciating the amazing view! :) I recommend going into the bar and paying for your beer immediately and taking it out to the beer garden yourself, so that you don't get ignored or forgotten by the waiting staff.

The white house on the hill. You can the Floibahnen up to here, and enjoy some amazing views! Make sure to walk back down though, as each turn gives a different yet spectacular view that is missed while using the Floibahnen.

Great deli counter. Decent quality food at the hot counter and they do daily specials. You can get a full roast chicken for 34 NOK, which can be a great way to make a nice chicken salad for "on the go"! :)
