It’s within a few minutes walk from the apartment and you will find some fantastic eateries in the centre of Lacanau Ocean. The apartment is on Plage Sud (South Beach) and most of the dining restaurants and cafe bars are at Plage Centrale. You can walk from the apartment to here in three minutes. Wonderful restaurants like Cafe Maritime, La Cabane, Bistro des Cochons, Lotus and many, many more.

Tranquille Lakes
The three famous lakes near to Lacanau Ocean are just beautiful.
There are three large lakes just a short drive or cycle ride fior the apartment called Lac de Lacanau; Hourtins and Carcans. These three lakes are surrounded by golden beaches and are perfect if you’d like a change from the Ocean. Here there are eateries, canoes and kayaks for rent as well as wind surf boards. You can cycle to the lakes in about 25 minutes using the free bikes we have to offer. The cycle pistes are very safe and go through the surrounding forests which are just perfect for chilling and being at one with nature.

Étang de Lacanau

Sightseeing
Europe’s largest sand dune is a must to see with your friends and family. It’s around a 45 minutes - an hour’s drive away, but spectacular to see. You could spend half a day there and half a day at this part of the coast.

City discovery
Bordeaux is a fantastic and vibrant city around 45 mins - an hour from the apartment by car. You can take the local bus but it can take 90 minutes, but a fun experience all the same!
A must see International City for its culture, architecture, restaurants, shopping and connecting to its wine industry. Visit the quais where you can see small cruise ships that travel into Bordeaux from all over the world. You can hire bicycles when you are there or take a skateboard as there is lots of walking to be had! The city is enormous, but start off at Le Bourse near the Quais to be at the heart of everything.

These guys are amazing and are just a few steps away from the apartment.
Really friendly and they speak a variety of languages and teach people to surf from all ages. Open from March until the first week of November, their instructors are friendly and extremely helpful.
