Biking
Biking is fantastic near our cabin - but it is hilly and you are certain to hit some gravel on the back roads.
The closest entrance to The Rail Trail is about 4 miles from the cabin.
The Northern Rail Trail spans 57.6 miles from Lebanon to Boscawen in New Hampshire. Begin your journey from Potato Road in Enfield and head toward Lebanon, NH. You will cross nine short bridges over the Mascoma River. The trail also skirts the northern shore of the 1,110 acre Mascoma Lake.
Going the other way on the rail trail - about 15 miles - you will arrive in Danbury NH. The Danbury country store offers snacks, restrooms and a welcome porch.

Paddling
if you get tired of paddling around Spectacle Pond, you might check out some of the other options in the neighborhood.
Grafton Pond is about 3.5 miles from the cabin.
Grafton Pond is a 300 acre lake with an almost undeveloped shore line. There are numerous bays and uninhabited islands to explore. It offers excellent swimming, fishing and wildlife watching opportunities.

City/town information
The cabin is closest to Enfield and Canaan - both are really small towns. The towns included here are a bit of a drive, but well worth the visit.
Hanover is about 35 minutes from the cabin. It is the home of Dartmouth College. You can find all the beauty, history, culture and charm of New England in Hanover. While in Hanover, grab lunch in one of the restaurants that dot main street, tour the Hood Museum of art or do a little shopping.

Lebanon, NH is 14 miles from the cabin. It is the only city in Grafton county, New Hampshire. Lebanon has a nice green and a few fun places to eat. Three Tomatoes serves Italian food, Salt Hill is an Irish Pub and Lucky's Garage serves a great breakfast.
