Groups of college students sunning or playing Frisbee, hand-holding couples, athletes heading for the ball fields, boats and barges of all descriptions gliding by. Quite opposite of the view from the French Quarter.

Not a paddlewheeler, but a fun and different way to view the Mighty Mississippi River. Ride across to Algiers Point and have a snack or drink at the Dry Dock Cafe. Walk around historic Algiers Point. Get back on the ferry and return to the French Quarter. Excellent people-watching aboard the ferry.
