My favorite places in or near Peniche

Some of the places that I would not miss while in Peniche. Portugal is so rich in natural beauty, culture, culinary and most important, the Portuguese people, they are so warm and welcoming! Enjoy your stay and come back again😊
Very close to Peniche and a great way to go back in time as you walk the cobblestones streets of Óbidos, experience the views from the walls and taste great Ginja (local drink) while you are there

My family and I were so impressed with the Park, it is so huge and as you walk you hear the sounds of the dinosaurs, it feels real. It is not only for the children.

I love the sunset from here, it is a 5 min drive from the apartment, and when you notice the sun going down you just hop in the car and there you are!

Small beach, where you can relax and enjoy the sun, even on a cold day, just lay on the sand and feel the warmth of the sun take over. You can also watch the fishermen going out to sea and returning with a full load of sardines on their traineiras.

Just half an hour by boat, you get to experience this beautiful place, you get dropped off at one end and picked up at the other end, thus, giving you time to walk and explore the nature of this island. Off season it is recommended to bring a picnic, as there is no restaurant open. Always sun block, windbreaker and water!

As you walk through this quaint and colourful neighbourhood of Peniche, you smell the fish being grilled in the back doors of local fishermen and Penicheiros (people of Peniche) houses. It is a delightful experience.

Check out this beautiful art by the ladies of Peniche. Visit the Escola de Rendas near the Esplanada, to see them at work and then head out to the museum.

Put your tennis shoes and walk the perimeter of the Peninsula or just through the city center, there are so many things to see.
