Keukenhof (English: "Kitchen garden"; Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkøːkə(n)ˌɦɔf]), also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in the town of Lisse, in the Netherlands. According to the official website, Keukenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres) and approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the gardens annually. While Keukenhof is most known for its tulips; hyacinths, daffodils, lilies, roses, carnations and irises can also be seen. Keukenhof is located in the province of South Holland, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam in the area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek). It is accessible by bus from Haarlem and Leiden train stations as well as Schiphol. Keukenhof is open for just 8 weeks from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, but this is dependent on the weather during the growing season which can vary year by year. In 2019, 1.5 million people visited the Keukenhof. it is worth to visit in Spring!

There are several private parking places.When you park on our private parking place (suitable for touringcar, cars and wheelchair bus) you can hop directly into a boat or rent a bike.Our private parking place is only for guests from the little Swan.This company is a so called ANWB bike-service-point and will give you tourist information. A public parking place is nearby. The village Giethoorn with about 2.620 habitants is unique in the Netherlands because of it's bridges, waterways and 'punters'(typical boats from Giethoorn). You see 18th and 19th century farm houses hidden between the trees and wooden bridges.Of course all this is best be viewed with a guided canelcruise or trip by whisperboat which you drive yourselfor canoe paddleboat. In Giethoorn and surroundings is a fantastic network of cycle paths, it is safe and very well marked, an ideal sportive activity.Suitable for children and adults are the duo bikes.
