So they are not joking when they say the world's best ice cream shop. It is. There is an ice cream shop in Highland Falls that's not that bad, but this one is seriously the best ice cream ever. And the scenery is breathtaking. It's in the historic town of Cold Spring and there is an awesome riverfront dock area where you can see West Point, the mighty Hudson River and the majestic mountains coming out of the river. This place is worth the 30 min drive!

There is an ice cream shop in Highland Falls that's not that bad, but this one is seriously the best ice cream ever. And the scenery is breathtaking. It's in the historic town of Cold Spring and there is an awesome riverfront dock area where you can see West Point, the mighty Hudson River and the majestic mountains coming out of the river. This place is worth the 30 min drive!

This place is awesome! It has an amazing hike up Bear Mountain to a tower where, on a clear day, you can see NYC 50 miles away! It also has a free zoo with North American animals native to the area! It also has an outdoor ice rink in the winter and a really nice little lake to walk around. It also has an old school giant merry-go-round that's indoors and super cheap. Great place for the family! You have to pay for parking on the weekends, but during the week it's free!
