If you are looking to spend the day at a park, Maymont is the one for you. Maymont park used to be a private residence until one day it was gifted to the city. Now anyone is able to go to the park, see the various wild animals and plants on display, visit the nature center and gardens, or explore the old mansion located on the property that is filled with Richmond's history all for free.

With Carytown being a short, 3 block walk from the property, it is a must to visit. Many locals enjoy walking up and down the street, exploring the many boutique shops, taking a look at some of the street art, and sitting down to a great meal at one of the many fantastic restaurants on the street.

The Jefferson Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Richmond and has a beautiful interior. During the holidays, the gigantic Christmas tree is the center of attention. I would recommend making reservations at their famous brunch on Sundays or attending High Tea sometime during your stay!
