Food scene

Great place, just outside the back door and on the beach. Meals are large enough for two persons and you will not find another restaurant on the beach that takes such care in presenting extra fresh, extra large portions of well plated food. They have beach chairs and tables with umbrellas on the beach on a first come-first served basis. It is literally my favourite go to place. Warning....his drinks are double size, just like his food. You literally pay for what you get at this place. Stop in and say hi to Juan in the kitchen or his son Ullises and daughter, Grace. They are a great family.

An amazing place to get THE most delicious Mexican food with a very modern twist. Andrea is the owner and supervises everything. The food is well presented, tasty, unique and she puts a tonne of care and attention to detail. There is an onsite art gallery where you can view local artists work on display.

Literally my favourite go to place for evening food and entertainment. The owner's are good friends of mine and have put a lot of effort into training and maintaining an exceptional level of service. Most nights of the week there is some form of entertainment and they often host specials that are off menu. The best rated bartender in Guayabitos works here and if makes a very mean dirty martini. His name is Juan. Make sure to say hi and that Kim sent you.

You aren't in Kansas anymore

We are not in a large city centre and it can take time during emergency outages to have things like internet, electricity and water issues ( infrastructure) to be fixed. They come when they come and your best perspective, is to just sit back, enjoy a margarita and fagetaboutit.

You don't need Spanish here, but....

Many of the local restaurants, grocery stores, etc. have at least one or two persons who can speak some English, but, they also appreciate it when you make an effort. Practice your spanish with them and they will love you for it. Learn a new phrase to show them each time you see them and they will be asking you to return again and again. Kim is a good resource to learn the basics. For starters, it's probably most helpful to learn the "comida" or "food' names from typical mexican menus, so you know what you are ordering. Not all menus are in English.
