Some public transportation, but the best way to get around is your own car, Lyft or Uber
Generally it is easy to get around the area. Not much traffic, so travel is is quick and stress free. River Valley Metro offers a local shuttle bus that is available to get you to University Park , where you can catch a commuter train to downtown Chicago. They also offer rides to and from Midway Airport. Best part is - the cost is $2 each way. Schedules are available online.
