Weekday mornings are Paint Playground at Seattle ReCreative (except in summer). Go visit Teachers Mike and Marva and let your kids make art and play in the playroom. Every day has painting and craft dough, and there's a rotating project at the third station. A great way to have a hand-made souvenir from your trip. Cost is $12. Just a short ride North on the #5 bus.

This is my favorite place for Latin American food. They have everything from street tacos to unique "Latin fusion" dishes combining elements from various Central and South American cuisines. Plus, the family that owns it is super friendly and will remember you from visit to visit.

My second favorite bookstore in town! Another small one, but they've got just about everything you'd want, and can get what they don't have within a couple days (in most cases). Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere make this a bookshop not to be missed.
