So many things to do in Gruene Town. Gruene Hall is Iconic and one of the oldest Dance Halls around. Great live music, and typically sold out! We love to eat at the Gristmill River Restaurant, the Gruene River Grill, and of course the Winery On The Gruene. Yummy wine winearitas too! Tons of cute owner operated homes that were converted into small businesses and quaint little indoor/outdoor shops!

Beautiful building and very relaxing atmosphere with sunsets from the patio! This is a fabulous winery with a wonderful selection of dry reds, dry whites and very nice sweet wines as well. They also have a mead wine. A small cheese plate is a nice match for any wine. Perfect weekend trip!

The water from its spring fed source is 10 times clearer than EPA standards for drinking water! Wow! Stunningly this river is protected from development. You can literally float part of Texas State University campus, but feel as though you’re in a nature preserve! Best Place I’ve been!
