Great places to walk and hang out
Many parks and green areas to choose from. The flat is right across from the best park in the city, St Hanshaugen.
Wonderful park right across the street, always lively, safe and well-lit. Jogging, walking, hanging out, playground for kids, food in the summer. A great place to view the sunset over the city - walk to the top at dusk.

Akerselva is the main river in Oslo and has a nice path along the shore all the way from the city centre to the rivers origin of Maridalsvannet. This is about 1 km to walk from the apartment. Or take the no 37 bus to Nydalen or start the walk from there.

University life
The area is home to many students and academics. Two of Norway's most important universities are close by. OsloMet's main campus is just around the corner. Several of the University of Oslo's campus buildings are within walking distance or can be reached easily by bus or tram.
