Quintessential Outer Banks. Drive in on the beach road. Dolphin Boats are fantastic and get them with a "black and white" (vanilla ice-cream with chocolate syrup) milkshake.

Great park and cool light house. You can hike to the top and the view is amazing. The Whalehead Club is there as well as the Nature Center. Quaint Village, Wild horse tours are available.

Lovely step back into a simpler time. It's about ah hour drive and then an hour + ferry so you will want to be there the whole day and leave early because the ferry lines start early.... Couple great restaurants, Flying Melon and Back Porch, Edwardos taco truck alone is worth the trip. The coffee house is very relaxing. Oh... and the beach is gorgeous!
