Recommended restaurants

A list of personally recommended restaurants that I frequently visit.
If you are looking for really homemade-like food with some of the traditional dishes of Porto and northern Portugal. The Rotisserie Chicken that inspires the name of the restaurant is crispy and very good. If you are feeling adventurous you can try some of the traditional dishes.

A "tasca" or a tavern, it's not a restaurant. It's specialty is "Bifanas", a sandwish of finely sliced pork stewed on a highly condimented gravy. Bifanas are one of Porto's traditional snacks and you can find them in hundreds of cafes and restaurants but at Astro it a form of art.

A nice and cozy place where you can find lost of traditional dishes from norther Portugal. On your way to the dining room you pass by a large window to the kitchen, regular customers sometimes ask the cooks for recommendations and proceed to sit with their order placed.

A not-restaurant that you visit for a sandwich of slowly cooked, for over eight hours, pork and mountain sheep cheese. Be sure to visit on a nice sunny day, there's almost no tables inside and you'll have to eat on the tables outside next to one of Porto's most eclectic gardens.
