Fowey is on the tranquil South Coast, so you will need to take a trip over to the North Coast to enjoy some rugged wave! Fistral is Newquay’s best-known surf spot, where you can hire a board and have a go or simply sit back and watch the pro’s. A family friendly beach with parking and facilities, and just a 20 minute walk into the centre of town. The beach is west facing so makes a stunning location to sit and watch the sunset over the sea.

“MAD” stands for Mechanical Art and Design. If you’re not quite sure what mechanical art is all about, think of the machines and gizmos used in Wallace and Gromit, Scrapheap Challenge and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In a nutshell, mechanical art is usually beautifully crafted, moving sculptures either made to have an exaggerated purpose or made simply for the fun of it.
