Completely disconnect from the life in the city and immerse yourself into this calm forest between agricultural fields and Bayreuth. Best place for adding more kilometres to your walk/jog around Röhrensee Zoo. Good for bird watching and if you're lucky you might come across some other timid animals like wild deer.

Peacefull park in the middle of Bayreuth, it is the Neues Schloss garden. On a nice summer day, the lawn will attract loads of students and families there. Otherwise, it is a very calm place to spend some time. For bird-watchers, you can already appreciate a great variety of European birds from this little park, just pay attention to those trees and be patient. Birds there are used to the presence of humans so they are easy to spot as they don't hide like in the forest.

Take a bus to everywhere around Bayreuth from the bus main station.
If you arrive or leave Bayreuth with Flixbus, this is the stop. It is relatively far from the city center (~10minute walk) and from our place (~20minute walk)

Food Scene
For sure the TASTIEST ice cream in Bayreuth! Don't think it twice and go straight to get their ice-cream. The owners and the people working there are all very friendly Italians. For the "true" chocolate lovers the PERUVIAN CHOCOLATE flavour is a must try! Otherwise, I feel that Opera has very tasty nutty flavours (walnut and fig or just the hazelnut one are good) but my favourite is their pistachio ice cream!

The Bavarian traditional cuisine is extremely good at Oskar (mostly for meat lovers but can accommodate vegetarians too!). Some plates might get a bit pricey but it remains super reasonable for the awesome quality and quantity. You will be in for a big treat if you go to Oskars. During high season it might get a bit crowded but it is worth waiting for a table and the service has always been fast even when crowded.
