Sightseeing

This is as old as Stonehenge and probably as significant. There are hundreds of standing stones, stone circles, ogham stones (pronounced arg ham), burial chambers etc. dotted over the county. The outer ring of Stone henge came from the Bluestone of the Preseli Hills - Blue or Spotted Dolerite only occurs here and in New Zealand. In 2020 there was an attempt to move a stone to Stonehenge.

Great places to go

This is a safe cove, great for swimming, paddling, boating or a pint on the beach. We enjoy evening BBQs and watching the sun go down or exploring in our open canoe. There are some strange white snails that come out at dusk and hang onto the tips of grass, on a casual glance they look like flower heads - we have no explaination other than it happens!
