The walkway is at our doorstep and passes several fascinating features including a waterfall, mature and regenerating native bush, freshwater creeks, boardwalks over mangroves and mudflats. The walk includes steps, and some short steep sections.

Stockade Hill was the location of the stockade built to protect Howick, New Zealand and its population from Māori during the New Zealand Land Wars. It is located on the main road into Howick. Howick's war memorial is located in the centre of the remains of the stockade's earthworks which are readily visible today

The food stalls represent a wide variety of cuisines while the woodcrafts, jewellery, garden adornments, roses, lavender soaps and creams, woollens and other hand-crafted products are all of the highest quality.
