Nature places to visit
Places to go for walks, bike rides, swimming...Porvoo nature at its best.
A cute little beach and a good place to swim near the city centre. You can reach it by walking or bike (try the city bikes!) within 10 to 20 minutes from our house.

Castle Hill, north of Old Porvoo, is known for its majestic pine trees and views of the city. The site is one of the biggest ancient fortresses in Finland with wooden bridges set over dried up moats. It calls for solitary walks and quiet moments surrounded by nature.

I LOVE love LOVE this little lake and natural beach! It's about 5km from our house so the journey is even walk-able, although I do recommend a bike! There is also a parking lot for cars, should you drive there.

Petri's Chocolate Room is a shop and a cafe. Beautiful handmade Finnish chocolate - to be eaten with a cup of lovely coffee or tea in the cafe or taken away. Seasonal chocolates are great (Easter bunnies and Santa Clauses!)
