Lots of restaurants and nightclubs, Northbridge is the party district that's been given a major overhaul lately and is looking pretty great. It's a short walk from the CBD.

A great outdoor pub, perfect for a summer's day. The restaurant, while not the cheapest, is very delicious and I've always found the service here great. They also do nice breakfasts.

Along Beaufort Street there are some great restaurants - Estia is one of my favourites (Greek), and the Inglewood Hotel is very nice and does great meals.

The Garden in Leederville is one of my favourite places for a drink on a summers day. Pincho's is cheap and delicious tapas. There are also trendy boutique stores in Leederville, such as YoYo Buffalo.

A stylish pub just a mere 60 second walk from the apartment, which does nice meals and shows major sports events, if you're interested in that. Otherwise the restaurant section is lovely.

A pretty cool restaurant/coffee shop in the heart of Mount Lawley, stemming from Planet Video, a DVD shop that has since moved upstairs, but used to be on the corner and had cult following.

Very delicious Greek restaurant, still family owned. Be prepared for the owner to greet you and shake your hand as if you're old friends, if he's there.

Everything Else
Up and coming, there are some nice shops along the railway line in Maylands, and Swallow Bar is one of the smallest in Perth. Leo's Pizza has been around for years and can't be beat.
