This is a small quaint shopping area, with just about everything you need. There are two main grobery stores, Woolworths and PickNPay (and Checkers is just around the corner), pharmacy, banks, cafes, etc.

Spectacular ocean views and the drive to get there is also beautiful.
Head out of Hout Bay over Constantia Nek. At the top at the traffic circle, you will see two restaurants (great places BTW), and across the street a dirt parking lot. Park there and head the road on foot. The trail goes for many kilomerters, and there are a couple of creeks crossing the path. You can stay on the dirt road, or veer off on one of the trails that head to the top of the mountain.

You can stay on the dirt road, or veer off on one of the trails that head to the top of the mountain.
Absolutely stunning place. You will need a permit in advance, and will need to call 021 6894441 to reserve and then pick up the permit. It tales about two weeks, so book early. This is just a few minutes from the house.

Take the cable car up to the top of world famous Table Mountain. Spectacular voews all around and amazing hiking trails. You could hike up or down and take the cable car one way.

Sightseeing
This is a fantastic curvy road on the side of the mountains along the ocean, connecting Hout Bay to Noordhoek and the Cape Peninsula. Definitely a must. There is a small toll.
