Sightseeing
Visit the new welcome center museum where you will learn the history surrounding the Donner Party, building of the Transcontinental railroad over the Sierras, westward expansion during the gold rush and more. Be sure to visit Pioneer Monument where the base is the height the snow was when the Donner Party got stranded. Continue up Donner Pass road over the summit and linger on the 20 Mile Museum.
