Tryon equestrian hosts many exciting competitions, as well as some non-equestrian events. Even when no events are scheduled, it is a great place to check out for their restaurants and art boutiques. It is an easy 9.5 mile drive from our farm.

Biltmore is probably the biggest attraction in the Asheville area. Worth visiting in one’s lifetime. We took our horses to ride there for a day.
It is one hour away from our location. To enter the estate, you need to purchase a ticket. To enter the castle, you also pay extra. They have a lovely winery there as well.

Kiwanis park is a local gem. Grab a coffee or a snack in downtown Rutherfordton and head on here for a serene time among the ancient trees.

The Purple Martin Greenway is Rutherfordton's first natural trail system. Along this trail you can explore wildlife, creeks, waterfalls and local plant life. The trail is bike, kid and pet friendly as well as handicap accessible. Located just off US Hwy 221, south of downtown Rutherfordton, the greenway is a hidden gem that feels like a true wilderness escape yet has the convenience of being close to shopping and restaurants.

Skyline DriveThe Purple Martin Greenway is Rutherfordton's first natural trail system. Along this trail you can explore wildlife, creeks, waterfalls and local plant life. The trail is bike, kid and pet friendly as well as handicap accessible. Located just off US Hwy 221, south of downtown Rutherfordton, the greenway is a hidden gem that feels like a true wilderness escape yet has the convenience of being close to shopping and restaurants.
Bechtler's original press from the 1830s is on display in a room dedicated to this exhibit. This valuable piece of history came from the
collection of the American Numismatic Society in New York and is on loan to the Bechtler Heritage Center from the ANS. Bringing the
press back to Rutherford County was a substantial effort facilitated by many people, and we are proud to have it on display in its hometown.
