What I think is the best beach on Long Island, especially if you like to walk! Parking fee in the summer months from 8am to 5pm, but free after 5pm.
Nightly live music/bands every night all summer from Thurs to Sun- check schedule w/Tiki Joes Smith Point. Counter service restaurant, ice cream shop and bar open in the summer with seating right on the ocean. The sunrises/sunsets can’t be beat and if you’re a walker, head west on the sand for 2 miles and experience the most serene and incredible place in all of LI or east for 7 miles to the most gorgeous inlet! Playground for kids. Clean bathrooms. Nature center.

Beautiful Welcome Center with modern bathrooms, awesome hiking/walking and multiple trails to choose from. The birdwatching is great too! No fee, but make sure to wear tick/mosquito repellent!

One of my favorite places on LI and its FREE! Sitting with the swans on the beach is something I absolutely love to do here. And they give free tours of the house. Hours are May to October Thurs to Sun 12-4pm. Truly a little corner of LI that no one knows about and you can call all your own!

Food scene
Patchogue is an absolutely wonderful town with some of the best food on Long Island. Name a cuisine and they have it. Want live music? I guarantee a venue or two is having some. Want to check out a film, live theater, museum, etc.... it's all there!

In my foodie opinion, this is the BEST place for seafood. It is small (only seats about a dozen people) and is a true oyster bar, casual vibe. Definitely order their local oysters, but EVERYTHING on the menu is so delicious!
