There are so many new places popping up in our time all the time that is hard to pick! but here are some of our favorite places we recommend. Hermosa is the closest.
This is a must go when in town, from delicious crepes, to a great dinner meal including a good selection of wines to just a simple cup of latte. They have 2 locations, Hermosa Beach (closest) and Redondo Beach ( 10 mnt drive but worth the trip) is at the Riviera Village so you get to explore the South part of town.

When craving fresh food, good coffe and just good eggs and either pancakes or sausage, this is our to go place. IS a family owned and most of the times only a few people serve the tables, if you see it packed, skip or you will wait a bit but most days are pretty good.

Sightseeing
For a day of local adventures on a bike, we always start here. Weather we load our bikes and drive there or uber to the local beach rental shop in Redondo (link below) we always start here. The beautifull bike path will take you across the beach , thru the redonod beach pier shops, pass Hermosa, Manhattan and contie down to the Playa Visat Marina if you wish. The ride can take from 1-3 hours depending on how far you wish to go.

How to Get Around
First off, you need to decide how to get around. There are three ways and you can pick one or do a mix.
Metro: Unfortunately when it comes to public transport, LA is the worst! We have a pretty big network of busses and a light rail, but reliability is a different story.
There aren’t nearly enough busses on the street, they rarely arrive on time and they are pretty slow. But for those of us who don’t drive it’s the cheapest way to get around.
Local’s Tip: Get a TAP card. You can purchase one at a machine located at any light rail stop. You can use this card for all the buss
