Sightseeing

Tygerberry Landing is located at 388 Berry Shoals Road in Duncan. It is very close, just 3 miles away. If you wish to just enjoy the scenery, you can just park and take it all in. It is a small park, but very pretty pretty, and has a short trail with benches where you can relax and fish. There is also a boat landing (with ADA Dock) if you enjoy paddling around.

Stone Ledge Park is very close by, just 2 miles away. The park has a picnic shelters, a trail, and a playground. Best suited for children, but you may enjoy the trail. Also, this is right next to Shipwreck Cove Water Park - again suited more for children, but you may enjoy this is you have a time for just a short trail.

For a longer outing, the Swamp Rabbit Trail is one of the more popular trails in the area, and can be quite busy at times. The trail is around 22 miles long, and is suitable for children and casual bike riders, so it is considered an easy trail. The trail heads south from Tate Road in Traveler's Rest, through Furman University, and follows the Reedy River through downtown Greenville, ending up at Greenville Tech on Cleveland Street. Along the trail, there are several parks, restrooms, shoppes, restaraunts, etc. It is a bit of a drive from Duncan, so if you can only see a short section of the trail, I recommend the section in downtown Greenville, where you should also take in Falls Park and Liberty Bridge. If you have the time, I think you will enjoy this. If you are looking for a quieter, park-like experience, I would recommend the section that runs through Furman University, where you will want to be sure to see the Bell Tower and the trail around Furman Lake.
