The neighborhood

Chapinero is a commercial, residential, cultural and gastronomic hub. Without much walking you can find everything you need, from good restaurants of all kinds of tastes and price ranges, to apparel, shoes and electronics. The name Chapinero comes from chapín, a word used around 1800 to describe a certain kind of women's shoe with wooden soil, very popular around this zone. At only 30 minutes to the airport by car!

Grab a bite

Some of the places around we recommend (and enjoy).
The best nearby place to grab a bite if you're in a pinch. Very good and not-so-pricey roasted chicken.

If you want to experience a cozy, yet very typical breakfast in Bogotá, there's no better place around. It's usually crowded around 10-11am on weekends, but it's worth it.

A hidden gem (we just recently found it). The Trdelník is a Czech roll dough sweet topped with everything you can imagine. It's very popular in Prague, and we were amazed to find it here in Bogotá.

A word of caution
