Beaches, Walks & Biking

Some of our favourite places, but there’s loads we haven’t covered. In the cabin you will also find a welcome book which has hand written notes from other guests with recommendations of places and also what nature they have spotted at the cabin.
Town beach: Beautiful sunsets. Nearby cafes, restaurants and surf kit hire. Good atmosphere. Interesting rock pools. Busy in summer holidays. My favourite place to cycle to from the cabin across the common/golf course, then go for a swim in sea before cycling back. Broad Beach (behind Oyster Catcher restaurant): long beach with lovely views towards Snowdonia. Quieter than town beach. Occasional street food and paddle board hire vans there in the pay and display car park which is actually further out of Rhosneigr on the long straight towards Aberffraw and before Cable Bay… Cable Bay: Short drive or walk out of village towards Abberffraw. A little bay in a dip. Beautiful photos and views towards Snowdonia. Occasional street food and paddle board hire vans there. In Rhosneigr village it’s self you have some great bars, cafes and eateries. Our personal favourites: Mojos for breakfast crepes Wills Bar for drinks or the oyster catcher restaurant above for meal in “HuffHaus” style building. Sandymount House for bar and terrace drinks and sophisticated dining.

My personal favourite beach. About 15 min drive away. Quiet little bay, views towards Snowdonia, with footpath walks around some other little coves and across seacliffs to Holyhead mountain if feeling energetic.

Lovely quite beach accessed by a meandering walk along the estuary. Stunning views towards Snowdonia. Llys Llywelyn bar and cafe in the village is great and also Jaspells cider brewery is a short walk out of the village and they also have a bar. Also nice little village pub “Y Coron”

Walk or bike through Newborough forest from Malltraeth, across the dunes and onto a beautiful quiet beach which leads on to the Welsh version of Valentine (St Dwynwen) Llandwyn island. Sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, amazing views towards Snowdonia. Possibility of seeing a Red Squirrel in the forest. See white section A Welsh mountain ponies as you cross the cob across the Malltraeth estuary.

Food scene

Arguably the best food on the island. Fine dining quality with relaxed vibe. Also we provide the potatoes from the farm here ;) although we provide lots of restaurants and shops on the island. 20min drive away.

HuffHaus style building. Wills bar downstairs. Restaurant upstairs. Gastro pub style. Closest place to here that we would recommend…approx 2 miles away. You could bike and call there :)
