Two great playground areas for kids; one is brand new and just renovated/opened in 2023! There is also a caboose! A few minutes drive (or ~30 minute walk) from our house

This is about a 1.5 mile loop and connected to our neighborhood. Great for guests who want to get in a walk/run while they're visiting. Lots of different connections to neighborhood streets, too!

One of our favorite places to tube the beautiful New River. Very shallow at this point. Ride the rapids or not, which makes it very family friendly.

Sightseeing
This is where Dirty Dancing was filmed! It’s a beautiful place with lots of good hiking and walking trails. We recommend that Bald Knob Trail that goes up behind the main lodge (take the trail up to amazing views and come down the gravel access road!) The Appalachian Trail and some overlooks are easily accessible a few miles past the lodge (War Spur Trail and Wind Rock overlook)
