Food scene
This marina/resort has a restaurant called Surfside Bay Bar & Grill. They have good pizza, a good burger, and we like the fried mushrooms and pickles as well! They also have a good frozen drink specialty on the weekend (maybe called a hurricane..??). This place is just a few minutes away by boat, around mile marker 58.

Small little restaurant about 20 minutes away in Climax Springs. Super friendly staff, good breakfast (or lunch), the BEST homemade bread! Open every day EXCEPT TUESDAY 6:30am-2pm.

This is the best new restaurant in town! Located in Osage Beach and about an hour drive but worth it if you're interested in driving to town and having a nice lunch or dinner out. They make fresh, hand-made cocktails, and great food. They also have a great wine list (by the bottle). They are right on the water and have a cool atmosphere! Ask about the history of this building if you go! (Around mile marker 17.5 on the lake... takes a long time to get there by boat!!)

This is a great place to go if you have kids with you! It's a restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating, plus a small water park with 2 water slides and a small pool that has a swim up bar on one side and regular bar seating on the other sides, and outdoor seating as well. At mile marker 38 on the lake - a little bit of a boat ride, but worth it for the fun!

About 15-20 minutes away - this is the closest little town that has a gas station/convenience store (7 Express), bank, post office, a little neighborhood market, and a breakfast and lunch restaurant (Come On In Cafe). At the farthest edge of town they also have a Dollar General.

About 45 minutes away - the closest town with a Walmart, some fast food places, and other restaurants.
Also check out downtown Warsaw! There are some good restaurants and shops.

About 45 min-1 hour away - this is the main lake town around Lake of the Ozarks. It has regular grocery stores (Dierbergs and Woods are our favorites), Walmart, Target, lots of restaurants - sit down and fast food, a movie theater, an outlet mall, nail salons, medical clinics, boat and sporting goods stores, several wineries (Shawnee Bluff has great wine and food - we like the wood-fired pizza)... pretty much anything you need. Oh and don't forget the frozen custard! (Randy's is a local favorite and Andy's is great too.) You can also visit the Dam at mile marker 1 on the lake. There's a cute little touristy area right by the Dam with some restaurants, shops, and even an old fashioned photography studio.
