Fushimi is one of the oldest and biggest sake brewery towns in Japan, because of it's abundant and good quality "soft" groundwater. You can enjoy sake brewry tours and perfectly matching foods, as well as historical landscape. Accessible in 20 minutes either by bicycle (go down the main street straight to the south), or by bus #81.
Learn sake making process and try fresh brew. Admission 300 yen with a small souvenir bottle. Open daily except Aug 13 - 16 and Dec 28 - Jan 4.
