“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”

“When the weather is nice, you can barely see the grass due to the throngs of people lounging around. Luckily, the park was recently renovated and is big enough that you're bound to find a spot you like. The southwest corner is good for a panoramic view of the city skyline (and usually far enough away from the folks enjoying their herbal refreshments on the northern slope). There's also a nice kid's playground, although it's geared more towards older kids.”

“There's lots of sightseeing and hiking in the Presidio The Presidio, a 1,500-acre park on a former military post, is a major outdoor recreation hub. It has forested areas, miles of trails, a golf course and scenic overlooks. Other highlights include grassy Crissy Field with Golden Gate Bridge views, Civil War–era Fort Point and sandy Baker Beach. Historic buildings house the Walt Disney Family Museum, eateries, homes and businesses like Lucasfilm, with its Yoda Fountain.”

“Just a few blocks South of here, a great little under-visited park with beautiful bonus views of the Golden Gate bridge at the top (of a fairly steep hill). Tennis courts are hiding up there, as are some fun trails for running / walking. One of my favorite green spots in the city. ”

“There are basketball courts and paths to walk, this park connects our neighborhood to golden gate park. To the left is the upper Haight. It's also the best bike path to golden gate park and the inner sunset.”

“The Duboce Park/Noe St. MUNI Metro stop is 5 minutes walk. Get on ($2.75/2 hours) and go east and you can be downtown in a matter of minutes. Go west to the end of the line and voila! You're at ocean Beach (in a matter of a bunch more minutes) and on the way you can stop and explore the Inner Sunset neighborhood (Irving/9th) with it's interesting shops and restaurants, (and direct access down 9th Ave to Golden Gate Park) and the island of hipness (and Outerlands Restaurant, Trouble Cafe, Java Beach, Mollusk Surf Shop and Art Gallery) at the far west end of town. ”

“Ocean Beach is a beach on the west coast of San Francisco, California, United States, bordering the Pacific Ocean. It is adjacent to Golden Gate Park, the Richmond District, and the Sunset District. A wonderful place to surf, picnic, walk. You will experience the serenity of the ocean against the bustling city. ”

“leave your inhibitions and swimsuit at home. If you're not familiar with the Pacific Ocean in SF - only the daring swim it unless it's 100 degrees F outside. The water is bitterly cold! This is predominantly a gay beach, but welcoming of everyone. It's a hike to get down there. At the foot of the stairs there's a small uncrowded beach. Keep going around the big rocks and you'll likely see some things you've never seen before. Keep going til the very end (tide dependent) until the security guard yells at you for going too far and you'll be standing RIGHT under the Golden Gate Bridge - one of the coolest, least-photographed views of the bridge is from right here. ”

Board Shop
“It’s a real surf shop. We don't have sandals or branded t-shirts. We just carry the necessities to go surfing in San Francisco. The surf here is pretty different than places like Southern California, so people may find their equipment doesn’t work quite as well here. Our gear is a little more Ocean Beach-specific. We do retail sales, but making custom surfboards is definitely the core of our business. We also do private one-on-one lessons, where you can learn to make your own board. And there's a big window into the shaping room from the retail part of the store, so you can just come and watch what's going on.”

“A former bathhouse that burned down, Sutro Baths is a must for sight-seeing. Travelers can still see remnants of the former bathhouse and it is extremely cool to walk on the skeleton of it. There are a couple easy trails near Sutro Baths that lead to killer views of the Golden Gate Bridge!”
