Our Vintage 1963 AEC Reliance Bus as Featured on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces has recently returned from a European Tour and is now available to enjoy in the idyllic hillsides of West Wales. Experience the charm of living in a 'rolling home', nestled in peaceful surroundings with valley views and big skies.

The Bus has its own decking area and outdoor space with unrivalled views across to the Preseli Hills and is conveniently located just 2 minutes drive from the charming village of Cenarth.

The Bus has been lovingly restored from a rusty rotten shell to a light, airy comfortable tiny home, whilst retaining many of original unique features and is even complete with a rear garage to house a classic mini for the full Italian job vibes.

As you step inside the bus you will be instantly amazed with the sense of space, there are huge panoramic views across the Preseli hills through the large glass windows framed in birch ply to give a warm and cosy ambience. The interior space has been cleverly designed to accommodate up to 4 guests, there is a fixed king bed and then a modular sofa area which can be configured as a double bed or two singles. The bus is completely self sufficient, with running hot and cold water, a fantastic shower, compost loo, kitchen, mains electric throughout, smart TV and plenty more surprises along the way.

Step down from the Bus and you have your own private decking area with firepit, dining area and most importantly a BBQ. This is the best spot to view the incredible sunsets, for any early risers you may be treated to a blanket of cloud in the valley and on a clear night you will get undisturbed views of the milky way.

IMPORTANT, The Bus is in a wild location and we ask that guests aren’t alarmed if they are rocked to sleep by the strong coastal winds or awoken by the calls of the neighbouring owls, badgers or wide range of wildlife, it’s all part of the experience and we can ensure you will be safe, cosy and warm in the Bus.

Hello, we are Stuart and Amy, the owners of the Tin Can Retreat. We have two gorgeous spaces available to host you, a 1962 Airstream Tradewind which was imported from the state of Alabama and a 1963 Vintage bus, both of which have been lovingly updated to modern standards.

A little bit about us, we love adventure and discovering new places and with the rise of remote working we have been travelling full time for just over a year and the Airstream and Bus combine our two loves of vintage tiny spaces and adventure.

It all started with the bus which we purchased for the princely sum of £750 to create a home for ourselves, followed by two years of blood, sweat and tears and we created what you can see today. The conversion was featured on 'George Clarkes Amazing Spaces' where it was described as 'A big, beautiful and very comfortable home on wheels, with a classic mini in the back, as a way of creating new experience and gathering life long memories, this takes some beating!'.

Our first experience of an Airstream was in 2019 when we stayed at Joshua Tree National Park in California. The remote location, beautiful night sky and Americana cool of the trailer amazed us and we began formulating plans to replicate it in the UK.

Fast forward to 2021 and a chance meeting with Farmer Gordon led us to putting a plan in place for our dream which we have named the Tin Can Retreat. Setting up this location has also meant that we have been lucky enough to spend a lot of time at Capel Tygwydd and in that time we have found some real gems and ideas of things to do which we have shared in our guidebook when you come to stay.

If you have any questions at all please reach out to us.
