Llandeilo is situated in the stunning Towy Valley, one of the most beautiful in Britain and near to the Brecon Beacons. With its wild mountains where magnificent Red Kites soar, nearby historic towns, famous gardens, Roman sites, gold mines and romantic castles, it’s a valley rich in myth, legend and history and leads to some of Britain's finest beaches. The area is very popular for walkers and cyclists all year round.

Local walks include Penlan Park at the top of the town and the historic Swing Bridge in the valley below.

Llandeilo also has its very own castle situated in Dinefwr Park where you can also visit the very impressive Newton House, owned by the National Trust. This magnificent mansion provides an atmospheric circa 1912 experience. Exhibitions on the first floor tell Dinefwrs story and inspires you to explore the castle and park. You can also go for beautiful walks and visit nature at its best, you may even spot a deer or two around its expansive grounds.
There are many other attractions nearby, including two further impressive castles, Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn.

Carreg Cennen is officially the most romantic ruin in Wales as voted by readers of Countryfile magazine. Perched on a great limestone crag nearly 300ft above the river Cennen, the dramatic silhouette of Carreg Cennen dominates the skyline for miles around and commands stunning views over the Carmarthenshire countryside.

Golden Grove locally known as Gelli Aur is a Country Park with 60 acres of wooded parkland surrounding Golden Grove mansion. It was once the home of the Vaughan and Cawdor families. The park features a number of nature trails. With its beautiful walks and wildlife it is definitely one to visit. The deer are wonderful and you may even see a peacock wandering around the grounds. There is also a small park for children and a lovely little cafe.

The National Botanic Gardens of Wales is set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside and right on our doorstep. The garden is a fascinating blend of the modern and historic. Here you’ll find an inspiring range of themed gardens, the worlds largest single span glasshouse, the British Bird of Prey Centre, a tropical Butterfly House, play areas and a national nature reserve, all set in a Regency landscape which provides the stage for a packed programme of events and courses throughout the year.

Aberglasney House and Gardens was made famous by the BBC TV series ‘A Garden Lost in Time’ which followed its restoration. Today it is quite simply one of Wales finest gardens. A renowned plantsman’s paradise with a unique Elizabethan cloister garden at its heart, Aberglasney offers the opportunity to explore more than 10 acres of magnificent gardens which along with the fully restored ground floor of Aberglasney grade ll listed mansion. Aberglasney has been an inspiration to poets since 1477.

Pembrey Country Park is well worth a visit as it consists of 500 acres of parkland and the award winning Cefn Sidan beach spanning 8 miles. The park contains visitor attractions such as the ski slope, toboggan ride, adventure play areas, miniature railway and mountain bike trails.
Other close attractions include Folly Farm, Heatherton, Oakwood, Tenby and Saundersfoot, Dan yr Ogof Caves and Dinosaur Park, The Gower and Mumbles, the home of Catherine Zeta-Jones.
