The Hawaiian Vanilla Co. was established in 1998 while sitting around a dinner table with family discussing what we would consider growing on our newly purchased property along the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island. At the time we had two small children and had a vision of how and where we wanted to raise them. My mother-in-law, who is an orchid enthusiast, mentioned that vanilla might be the crop to cultivate. From that dinner conversation to today this journey has been an adventure beyond my wildest dreams. Being able to work along side of my wife and children and build this company together has been an incredible experience.

Book ahead for a delightful lunch in a lovely setting at this family owned and run vanilla farm. You will receive a presentation on the Vanilla bean and how it is cultivated. Tour of farm available after the meal. Fun to know- everything on your plate is made with something Vanilla! Gift shop has great selection.
