Located on the Niagara Escarpment this is a great place to get a glimpse of traditional rural life in Ontario. They are open year round and offer activities like bird watching and cross country skiing. There are a number of Halton Conservation areas close by worth checking out including Hilton Falls, Kelso, Glen Eden, and Crawford Lake. Hiking and cycling are popular on the trails that wind up and down the Niagara Escarpment. Each of these conversations areas is a 30-45 minute drive from Kitchener. They are difficult to access by public transit.
