This is a great destination for design lovers, with dozens of studios and retail units on several floors right by the river, selling gifts, homeware, and jewellery. Check out Lauren Shanley on the first floor. She creates colourful accessories from upcycled vintage textiles. And pop by Snowden Flood for unusual souvenirs, such as a set of London Landmark coasters.

“Hay's Galleria is a mixed use building in the London Borough of Southwark situated on the south bank of the River Thames featuring offices, restaurants, shops, and flats. Originally a warehouse and associated wharf (Hay's Wharf) for the port of London, it was redeveloped in the 1980s. It is a Grade II listed structure. During the nineteenth century, the wharf was one of the chief delivery points for ships bringing tea to the Pool of London.[1] At its height, 80% of the dry produce imported to London passed through the wharf, and on this account the Wharf was nicknamed 'the Larder of London'. ”

“HMS Belfast is one of only three remaining vessels from the bombardment fleet which supported the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944. The other vessels are the destroyer USS Laffey, part of the historic ships grouped at Patriots Point, South Carolina, and the dreadnought battleship USS Texas at San Jacinto, Texas. In total, HMS Belfast spent 33 days in support of the landings and fired over 5,000 shells ”
