The neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst or nGbK (New Society for Fine Arts) on the ground floor of a former safe factory on lively Oranienstraße in Kreuzberg. The art society is grass-roots democratic: every member has an equal vote, the programme is decided at the annual general meeting and working groups prepare the exhibitions. Entrance is free!

This Kreuzberg gallery usually has cool exhibitions from young and emerging Berlin (and international) artists. It’s hidden behind an equally interesting art bookstore.
