Take a trip to Skomer Island. Best time is Spring for the flowers and May/June to see the bird life including Puffins. It will mean an early start as there are limited numbers allowed on the Island each day.
Nature reserve island. Best to find details online for trips to the island.
From the cliffs at Marloes look out to the offshore bird islands of Skokholm, Gateholm, Grassholm and the Marine Nature Reserve of Skomer. We love to visit the headland opposite Skomer Island, the 'Deerpark' (National Trust), a two-thousand-year-old promontory settlement bounded by cliffs. If you visit in September you will see seal pups on the beaches below. We highly recommend a boat trip from Martin’s Haven, the little harbour at the end of the nearby Marloes peninsula. Boats go each day in the season to the magical islands of Skomer and Skokholm. These islands are famous for their wonderful bird life and have some of the richest wildlife in Britain - especially Skomer's enormous colony of puffins. The Wick on Skomer is a perfect place to sit and watch puffins in the early summer land and take off from their burrows in the ground.
