In the middle of the Vesting is a large church (Grote Kerk) with a 75m tower, a beacon for ships for over 5 centuries. Visitors are allowed to climb up the tower on: Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30 - 16:30 Sunday and Monday from 13:30 - 16:30.

The 'Grote Kerk' (Large Church) quite literally is a very large church for the small city of Naarden. It is the landmark from far away and also 'soundmark' chiming every half and full hour for the people living and sleeping in the city. The Grote Kerk hosts a very well known Photography Exposition every summer which attract people from all over the country. During this expo other locations/ancient houses/art galleries join in with the expo creating a full city walk/tour looking at beautiful photography all over!

The old town of Naarden is 5 minutes by car and a wonderful town with sightseeing, shops, restaurants etc
