Lovely Loch 4 miles from Granary. Take a boat across to castle (seasonal) and walk around the Loch. Stop at the Boathouse or Loch Leven’s Larder for refreshments and Vane Farm Nature Reserve. Only 10 minutes away.
Only 5 minutes walk from our cottage! 13 mile track that takes around our beautiful Loch. You can borrow bikes from us as you can cycle around it too.
Wonderful trail around the loch, approximately 12.5miles total. Or try the Loch Leven Castle ferry from Kinross to visit the ancient Castle set on an island in the loch. Seasonal opening and advisable to book in advance via Historic Scotland website www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/places…

“If you are looking for a bite to eat with some beautiful views I would recommend Loch Leven’s Larder. The food is great and the views are just superb! The cafe is doggie-friendly too which is super convenient. Just be sure to book in advance, especially at the weekend. Once you’ve eaten you can then take a beautiful walk around the Loch, home to the historic Loch Leven Castle, where Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567 and if you walk far enough (around 4 miles on the walking path) you can get a ferry across and learn more about her.”

“This is the mountain that is right on our doorstep. It is 241ft short of a munro (3,000ft) and lies between the Victorian town of Pitlochry and Killiecrankie. "Our" side is the quieter and the effort of climbing even a part of it is very rewarding. ”

“An excellent distillery tour which we enjoyed very much. Sampling included and we got to keep the glasses too!”

“Great for a visit to this extensive delicatessen, full of highland specialities, not to mention a wee dram. Wander amongst the country clothing and home making departments. But don’t miss the short walk to the Falls of Bruar to the right of the clearance department.”
