The largest of the many underground cities scattered about Cappadocia, Derinkuyu has a stunning 8 levels and housed tens of thousands of people (and their animals!) for months at a time. There's truly nothing like walking through it and trying to imagine what it would have been like to live there - very cool!!

Derinkuyu Underground City is massive. It has eight floors, and it has a missionary school, a confessional, and a christening pool. The sheer size of it makes it another great place to see in Cappadocia. Under Derinkuyu, there were another 400-500 underground cities with more than 600 doors found. Some of these doors are still being used today as store things. You can get in for free with a museum card. There are guides here, but they’re not local guides.

Derinkuyu underground city is one of the bigges underground city found in Cappadocia region. One of the biggest of 60 underground cities are located Cappadocia region. It is 8 levels underground. One of the must see place in Cappadocia!
