An art enthusiast's paradise....this whole street is galleries. It is only one block off Bourbon Street, but a world away. Don't miss it!

“Frenchman is a great option instead of bourbon for live music. Great music venues everywhere. The street vendors have great food if they are out, and we love stopping at 13 for a bite to eat as well.”

“(6 min by car, 32 min by streetcar, 33 min walking) Audubon Park, stretching for over a square mile from St. Charles Avenue to the Mississippi River, is Uptown's big green lung. Easily accessible by streetcar, it's popular with everyone from families and children, joggers and sports fans, to birdwatchers and golfers. Towards the river end of the Park is the almost entirely outdoor Audubon Zoo. Named for the naturalist and city son John James Audubon, the park's landscaped lagoons and labeled collection of plants and trees are a great place to find peace and rest in the Big Easy.”

“Take a ride down Saint Charles Avenue on the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world. Board it at Carondelet and Canal Street and ride it all the way through Uptown to the Carrollton neighborhood. We suggest getting off on Oak Street and checking out Blue Cypress Books. There are other shops and restaurants on Oak that might pique your interest. The fare is $1.25 each way, exact change required. ”
