From mid November to mid March Olympic Plaza offers the only outdoor refrigerated ice skating rink. The skating rink is open to the public from 10am to 9pm. You can rent skates at a stand right in the plaza. Skates cost 12$ for 2hrs rentals. Its a fun winter activity in the heart of the city and at night there are pretty lights that create a beautiful atmosphere.

Olympic Plaza is a beautiful destination place for downtown Calgary workers during lunch hour. The plaza was built in 1988 for the Olympic Winter Games and has the only refridgerated outdoor ice surface in the city.

A must visit during winter time to rent ice skates at the location and spend some time skating. For inexperienced folks, 'definitely worth giving a try', so I've heard. 😂😂
