Good food and excellent service. Lovely olde world interior. In a nutshell - charming!

The Crown Inn One of the oldest pubs in Cornwall, The Crown is full of charm and period features including low beamed ceilings and fireplaces. Today it is well known for its award winning locally produced food accompanied by a good selection of wines, ales and ciders. The Crown Inn, Lanlivery, Bodmin PL30 5BT (T: 01208 872707)

A very cosy Medieval Inn in the heart of the village of Lanlivery. Food is served in the restaurant or pub area. The pub has several interesting little areas giving a snug feel with its low ceilings, slate floor, old black wooden doors, granite walls and beer garden. You can really take a step back in time to a Cornwall when farming, mining and fishing were booming. Local legend has it that the monks lived here as they built the neighbouring Lanlivery Church and brewed their own beer here. Although there is no beer brewed on site these days, there is always an interesting and varied selection of local ales served in good condition for the connoisseur to sample. A night out here with friends for conversation is recommended.
