The former fishing village of Aberporth is a great place for a traditional family beach holiday with a beautiful Blue Flag beach. Bottlenose dolphins are seen frequently close to shore. Rock pools are exposed at low tides and the cliff top walks along the Ceredigion Coast offer extensive views as far as the Lleyn Peninsula.
Great beaches with activities and also dog friendly, dramatic coastal walks and great places to eat.
Aberporth a lovely dog friendly beach (on the right side) with Fish and Chips in Sgadan, Driftwood, Shaganda for example
Being only a 15 minute drive away from Cardigan, Aberporth is a good place to visit and has lots of independent eateries and shops. The beach is also gorgeous and usually packed with people. There is also plenty of public transport running too and from Aberporth all day so it is an easy access spot to visit.
Aberporth is a village and beach favoured by the owners of Caban Coetir. It’s effectively one big beach split in two at high tide. Dogs are allowed on the right side all year round. Perfect for a family day out buckets and spades are available on the beach to use freely as long as they are returned. Lifeguards are present during the summer months and you can get the occasional seal accompanying swimming when the beach is quiet. Oh and there is a fantastic fish and chip shop for those seaside suppers !
