There are some great trails in this area, some of which are paved (in case of mud or snow) - The Big Easy is one that comes to mind, but there are many others. Mayhem Gulch is not paved and very steep, but a fun and challenging hike with great views at the top.

Enjoy walking along the creek. In the summer, grab a tube and float back home. Walk 20 minutes to Canal Zone to rock climb. Whitewater kayak park just blocks from basecamp.

Clear Creek is famous for numerous reason: it supplies Coors with all its water to brew beer, it has tons of well-established climbing areas with plenty of classic sport and trad routes (with super easy access right off the road), there is some really fantastic white water paddling to be had in spring and summer, there is a walking/running/cycling path that leads from downtown Golden, and there are several trail heads to stop at for additional hiking or biking. If you climb in CCC, there are a lot of guidebooks available at local outdoor shops and the routes are also very well described on Mountain Project.

Head into Golden and take a drive up Clear Creek Canyon or park at the base and walk the brand newest segment of the Peaks to Plains trail. Rent a bike and ride the Clear Creek bike path from Golden to Wheat Ridge. During the summer months, rent a tube, and float down the creek with family and friends!
