For a nice spot on the North Shore close to Paia town you can stay off of Holomuna Rd. 50 Holomuna Rd. Paia, HI 96779 Turn onto Holomua Road from Hana Highway. Within a half a mile from Hana Highway is best and you can hear the ocean. Hookipa Beach is within sight with daytime bathrooms and showers.
This funky little beach town is charming and has everything you need! Great restaurants, galleries, boutiques & bikini stores! The town is overrun with hippies, which the locals ask you not to feed.
Adorable small surfer bohemian town. Beautiful little spot to spend the day. My favorite way to explore Paia is... Walk Baldwin beach in the morning as the views are incredible. The sun shine hits the West Maui mountians and creats the best colors in the world. Get coffee at Paia coffee, shop at Wings of Hawaii, Biassa rose and Maui hands. Get groceries at Mana foods (cute must see mom and pop store with great prices and the best hot bar ever) or have lunch at Paia fish market. Also, Flatbread pizza is wonderful. My favorite pizza is 1/2 mopsy pork 1/2 pele pesto. The goat cheese salad is perfect and also pomegranate mojitos are the best. One more restaurant is Cafe Des Ami. They are only open from 1:00 on but amazing. My favorite are the crapes.

Don’t blink! You might just miss the historic town of Paia. Consisting of only one main road, Paia Town offers a nice escape for those of you looking to change up your day excursions on Maui. A hippie-surf town since the 1970s, Paia offers enough people-watching to fill up your entire afternoon. Head here for low key restaurants like Paia Fish Market or Cafe Des Amis, art galleries, local shopping, massage studios, and yoga classes. Watch some of the best windsurfers in the world at Ho’okipa Beach Park, or enjoy a relaxing picnic at Baldwin Beach Park.

Paia was once home to one of Maui's Sugar Mills. In the 70's it was popular with Hippies and surfers. Now its one of Hawaii's most visited towns, full of character and charm. Paia Town has great restaurants, interesting shops, and the best natural food store on the island, Mana Foods. It's a small town so plan to park at the parking lot just before the Shell station as you enter Paia on the right. Or there is paid parking behind Charlie's restaurant. You can also park at Baldwin Beach Park if you don't mind a little bit of a walk. Baldwin Beach is a beautiful and large beach that gets great waves and faces North West so its perfect for sunset.
