Beautiful (and normally not too busy) hike

There are several reasons why you should wait until summer is long gone to take on this hike–the main one being that it’s currently closed due to trail construction. With plans to reopen this fall, the 90-foot waterfall should be on full display, as the flow tends to be stronger when the summer season ends. Because the 1.5-mile out-and-back hike is a bit off the beaten path, the pool at the top of the falls has a reputation for being the “Nudist Pool.” So prepare to maybe see some full frontal action if you head above the falls

TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO PANDEMIC: 20 minute walk up to the waterfall with the new trail going up above the waterfall. This is the best "bang for the buck" waterfall in the Gunks. See Rough Cut entry for food and beverage after your hike.

Spectacular Stony Kill Falls is only 1 mile away. You can drive and park there, or skip the parking lines, and just have a quick hike like a local, if you like going through a wild woods.

One of the most unique and beautiful parks in the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. Features waterfalls, lakes and spectacular cliff-edge views. A beautiful, relaxing hike up to the waterfall where you can take a cool, refreshing dip!
